- VDROP = Driver voltage drop (1-2V typical)
- margin = Additional headroom (recommended ~2V)
Example:
- Laser diode forward voltage: 5V
- Required supply voltage: 5V + 2V = 7V (minimum)
- Recommended: 8-9V for optimal operation
